Comprehending the effect of minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) parameters, such as MQL nozzle distance and MQL flow rate, is crucial for enhancing machining operations. Manufacturers may enhance machining performance, productivity, and sustainability by adjusting the nozzle distance and flow rate. In the presented study, the effects of MQL nozzle distance (25, 50, and 75 mm) and MQL flow rate (20, 40, and 60 mL/h) on cutting force, cutting temperature and surface roughness in milling of C45E mild carbon steel were investigated. Using 25 mm MQL nozzle distance and 60 mL/h MQL flow rate improved the cutting force, cutting temperature and surface roughness by 14.6%, 42.1% and 41.8%, respectively. These results reveal that adjusting MQL parameters will contribute to more effective and sustainable machining.
