Managing Online Banking Adoption Using Extended Technology Acceptance Model
摘要
Increasingly popular online banking services raise the importance of understanding customer behaviors. The study investigates the interplay among perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust, perceived web security, and behavioral intention to use online banking in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The expanded version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was prepared based on the literature, and a structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The process ended with 212 responses collected from residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina who actively use banking services. The structural equation model was prepared and tested using the Smart PLS4 software package. Once the validity and reliability of measures were confirmed, the bootstrapping algorithm was used to investigate hypothesized effects. Perceived web security significantly influenced trust, while trust affected perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Moreover, perceived ease of use demonstrated a significant direct impact on perceived usefulness, while both were significant predictors of behavioral intention to use online banking services. Such findings can enable bank managers to better understand and predict consumers’ online banking adoption. Additional practical and theoretical implications are further discussed.
