The paper presents the results of the investigation of traffic accidents that occurred at roundabouts, the determination of the responsibility of the persons who participated in the accidents, and the issue of conducting misdemeanor and civil proceedings. The research was carried out in the area of the Western Balkans. Different procedures for determining responsibility for the occurrence of traffic accidents at roundabouts lead to different practices of actions by the competent authorities, which increases the number of misdemeanor proceedings as well as civil proceedings due to the fact that the participants in the mentioned traffic accidents do not agree to the determination of responsibility in the manner determined and proposed by authorized persons, which causes significant material and financial expenses for road users.
