The largest percentage of electricity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) is generated by burning fossil fuels, primarily coal, in thermal power plants. This paper investigates the potential of utilizing wind energy for electricity generation in the Trebević area. Wind velocity data, obtained from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, were analyzed for the Trebević area at an altitude of 1151 m. Using logarithmic and power laws, wind velocity values measured at a height of 15 m were extrapolated to a turbine tower height of 100 m. The calculations indicate that the average wind velocity at 15 m is 3,93 m/s, while at 100 m it is approximately 6,7 m/s. The average annual wind power densities at heights of 15 m and 100 m are 92 W/m2 and 452 W/m2, respectively, demonstrating significant wind energy potential in the Trebević area.
