This study delves into the complex relationships between geomorphic indicators and relative tectonics that regulate geological parameters of a Sub-Himalayan drainage basin revealing the subtle but significant links that determine the topography. Using a comprehensive approach incorporating morpho-analytical tools, this study reveals the reasoning that emphasizes the interdependence of various geological events and analyses the tectonic and structural development of sub-watersheds in the Baner Basin in the Himalayan foothills of District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. The valley floor width-to-height ratio (Vf), Stream length index (SL), Basin shape index, mountain front sinuosity etc. helped to access the impacts of active tectonics and erosional activities in the study area. The average of all statistical values of geomorphic indices, hypsometric and morphometric parameters were used to generate a relative tectonic map (RTM) of the sub-watersheds and their respective ranking for tectonic activity was done. The parameter results and insights can be used in regional planning initiatives, laying the groundwork for long-term development and hazard mitigation. In this study, it was analyzed how the tectonics have modified the overall geo-morphometry of the Baner basin which may affect the hazard potential at the sub-basin level.
