Appropriate Documentation
摘要
Academic productivity is the key determinant of success as a faculty member and it is essential that your accomplishments be properly documented. Presenting an accurate summary of your accomplishments is important for career advancement, especially when seeking other roles or new positions, and when applying for promotion and tenure. Documentation of your activities and accomplishments should include an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV), biographical sketch, resume, personal statement, and any additional documents required by your medical school for appointment, promotion, and tenure (APT). You should know when and how to update and use each of them, as well as how to maintain any profiles that may be on institutional and personal websites and social media. You also should become familiar with the recommended CV style and content required by your institution’s APT committee. Several versions (short and mid-length) of your biographical sketch can be useful and should include a recent professional headshot photograph with an appropriate background. A professional resume and personal statement are often useful, especially for purposes such as interviews and applications for non-academic positions.
