Policy practice is important for social workers, because policies determine the funding and implementation of the programs in which they work. Additionally, social workers cannot work toward the core value of social justice without understanding the role policies play in both eliminating and maintaining injustices. The activities in this chapter engage students in course material to help them connect policy to their direct practice.
