Mad “Monopoly”
摘要
Poverty is complex with multiple factors contributing to a variety of experiences, but at its base, to be poor is to be unable to meet one’s fundamental needs with the resources that are available, including safe shelter, affordable healthcare, quality nutrition, and a good education. Students may struggle to understand the complexity of poverty, but an activity, like Mad Monopoly, in which the starting point for players are decidedly unequal, can help students put words to what they are thinking and feeling when it comes to poverty and its structural causes.
