Prospective Healthcare Systems for Non-communicable Diseases Using Smart Portable Devices for Drug Delivery
摘要
The chapter presents a brief description of a type of health pathologies endorsed as Non-communicable Disease (NCD), that cover several health problems that demand billions in pharma and medical assistance in the world. These cases are not properly considered as they do not involve life risk in the short term but may affect the individual's performance and well being. Current technology helps in diagnosis and certain predefined scheduled checks. Most of the symptoms in those cases do not require complex devices but need to be contextualized properly in order to determine if any critical condition is present and the risk level of the event. An additional characteristic is that sometimes an urgent but simple action is required but not available. There is the possibility to take advantage of most current technology in order to perform a 24 × 7 body status tracking, monitor special concerning parameters, and fire automatically small doses of medicine upon predefined criteria. Some background information and global explanation of the Prospective Healthcare System is being introduced here along with statistical evidence on the benefits of implementing this novel type of treatment for NCD.
