The Malaysian Islamic Party (Parti Islam Se-Malaysia- PAS) is the single largest party in Parliament as of 2025. The party recognizably utilizes religious discourse, which is fundamental to theosemiotics. Using approaches in Discourse Studies, theosemiotics makes overt how people use multimodal discourses to enable sacred meaning making. This chapter examines social actors, intertextuality and legitimation in several PAS texts—the party constitution, membership form, one poster (Amanat Hadi) and three pamphlets (Budaya Politik Matang Sejahtera, Wawasan Induk Negara Sejahtera, Dokumen Hijau). Despite the different texts, the party displays a consistent ‘voice’ in language, image and color, grounded in Islam. The Quran and Hadith are intertextual references to legitimize authorization that is complemented by moralization and rationalization. Social actors are deployed to create PAS/UMNO-BN and God/human hierarchical binaries. The party is involved in secular and present concerns but its interpretation of Islam sacralizes these concerns, which may acquire spiritual and eternal consequences. PAS participates in sacred meaning making in its texts, where religious discourse renders it a suitable party to govern Malaysia.

摘要
