This study investigated the effectiveness of an upper limb exoskeleton in mitigating ergonomic risks associated with raised arms during the polishing activity of the lower wing of a commercial jet aircraft in the aeronautical industry. Using electromyographic (EMG) measurements, the aim was to evaluate the musculoskeletal effects on the right arm’s anterior and medial deltoid muscles. Our results indicate a significant reduction in muscular activity in the medial and anterior deltoids when using an upper limb exoskeleton during aeronautical polishing tasks. Furthermore, the ergonomic safety curve analysis showed that the exoskeleton effectively moved the activity away from the critical zone of the analyzed activity.
