A woman with the aging process presents some physiological changes that make it difficult to lose weight and consequently accumulate localized adiposity, especially in the abdominal region. The increase in central diseases leads to cardiovascular risks, therefore, the increase in demand for non-invasive resources is on the rise. Tecar-therapy is one of these resources and has some effects on adipose tissue. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the effect of Te-cartherapy on localized abdominal adiposity in women using magnetic resonance imaging. To this end, two healthy women aged 40 and 42 were recruited, complaining of localized abdominal adiposity and BMI below 27 kg/m2. Two assessments were carried out, at the beginning and end of the applications, with anthropometric data collection, abdominal adiposity plication and magnetic resonance imaging. Six weekly applications of Tecartherapy were carried out with the combination of resistive and capacitive tips. The perimetry results showed an increase in some measurements, but magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a reduction in the thickness of the adipose layer, especially in the infraumbilical region. It is concluded that Tecartherapy with the combination of tips presents the possibility of effectiveness in the treatment of reducing the adipose layer.
