Within the context of an institution that evolved from industry collaborations, we discuss several key vehicles for advancing partnerships with industry. Some key incentives include government partnerships, industry needs, connection to student training portfolios, such as cooperative education, and funding sources for talent training. The chapter also discusses how sectors less inclined to engage in partnerships have emerged as pivotal in the new societal context. Additionally, we discuss how challenge-based partnerships can evolve with industry collaborations, given their impact on large societal problems.
