Recognizing the importance of springs, adopting practices that could revive the degraded biodiversity by shielding the mountainous ecosystem is crucial to ensure its long-term existence and the well-being of millions of inhabitants. The essential steps required to reach the cause(s) of springshed deterioration are compiled with suitable examples. Based on the exact cause, relevant engineering measures or revival strategies applicable to the selected springshed are finalized. Therefore, in this chapter, the pressing need for adopting the springshed management is justified for protecting and rejuvenating the springs.
