The investigation carried out so far presented environmental ethics as a field of investigation characterized by a vast plurality of perspectives. Although a careful analysis of the different ethical perspectives showed they are both formally and materially valid, and neither anti-humanist nor opposed to the most used arguments of traditional ethics, often they are still in open contrast with each other.
