Enable the Peacemakers
摘要
Article 2(3) of the U.N. Charter seeks to settle “international disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.” This chapter focuses on Article 14 (part of Functions and Powers), Articles 33–38 (Pacific Settlement of Disputes), Article 52 (part of Regional Arrangements), and Article 99 (part of The Secretariat) of the U.N. Charter. These are the primary tenets of the U.N. Charter that empower the General Assembly, the Security Council, and the International Court of Justice, regional organizations, and the U.N. Secretary-General to act as peacemakers in disputes and situations that endanger the maintenance of international peace and security.
