We know very little about him, little about his short life, even less about his death. His discovery, however, has not been forgotten by the field of medicine in the more than 100 years since his death. And it is very unlikely that this will change in the next 100 years: Nikolai Korotkow and “his” sounds. By using this “sound,” it was possible to determine the diastolic blood pressure in a simple and accurate manner for the first time.
