Cassatt. An Insight into Her Eyesight

When thinking about “impressionism,” inevitably the names of Monet, Manet, Turner, or Pissarro come to mind. Less well known is the American artist Mary Cassatt. Influenced by William Turner, she gave birth to her works at the same time as Claude Monet and Edgar Degas. As with Turner and Monet, she too suffered from cataracts. In an examination of her paintings, one can see the effect of the increasing cloudiness of her natural lenses.
