Methods of Object Positioning in Augmented and Virtual Reality for Hazardous Areas Operations
摘要
This paper analyzes methods for determining the precise position of devices used within the task of hazardous area management. Technologies such as Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Precise Point Positioning (PPP), Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and photogrammetric mapping are studied, their advantages and disadvantages in the context of demining tasks are considered. A combined approach is proposed that uses the advantages of analyzed technologies. It is based on creating a digital twin of the terrain using photogrammetry as the basic coordinate system for all components of the demining system. The proposed solution can be used in virtual reality to analyze hazardous areas and to plan operations, and to visualize data about explosive ordnance (EO) in augmented reality.
