Nowadays Distance measuring equipment (DME) is considered one of the important sensors for airplane positioning. Flight management system automatically initiates positioning by pair DME/DME in case of satellite navigation system lock and long duration of inertial navigation usage. The performance of positioning by DME/DME depends on ground network configuration. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for DME network performance analysis. The service volume of each DME is used to estimate the availability of DME services. Also, cumulative functions are used to get area analysis of considered parameters. Indicators of DME service quality (number of available ground stations, number of DME/DME pairs, and navigation system error) are considered in detail. Also, we use an indicator function to check the evaluation of particular area navigation specifications (RNP/RNAV) requirements. In numerical calculation, performance of DME ground network has been evaluated to meet requirements of area navigation in the LRBB Flight Information Region.

摘要
