Emerging Technologies in Infectious Disease Surveillance and Control: Current Solutions and Future Directions
摘要
In the period of an epidemic, when a large number of patients with different symptoms coming to medical institutions, the established diagnosis is one of the important task for the implementation of anti-epidemiological measures at various levels. Especially if there are outbreaks of rare or new diseases (for example, cholera or hemorrhagic fever), which complicates the diagnosis, the last clinical picture may not be obvious and do not correspond to the usual nosological forms. The use of technologies in similar and other cases that are associated with uncertainty, incompleteness of data opens up great opportunities for the analysis and control of infectious diseases system development, which can increase the efficiency and accuracy of calculations, decision-making and strategies for additional actions selection. However, despite the advantages, the implementation of such systems in full life is accompanied by problems, in particular in the privacy, security and scalability areas. The study analyzed existing technical solutions in other countries of the world and Ukraine in the field of surveillance and control of infectious diseases.
