Bedside hearing tests (finger rub, whisper, Weber’s test, Rinne’s test) are convenient because they are simple and rapid. These can screen for hearing asymmetry and distinguish between sensorineural hearing loss and conductive hearing loss. Bedside assessment of hearing is not a substitute for instrumented audiometry.
