Thyroid problems are very common. Occasionally, a person with a thyroid problem will complain of disequilibrium, but it is unclear whether the thyroid problem causes the disequilibrium, so in a patient with diagnosed thyroid disease who is complaining of audiologic or vestibular symptoms, it is medically reasonable to screen for more common causes of those symptoms.

Thyroid problems are very common.
