Towards Seamless Multi-cloud Integration: Algorithmic Approaches to Data Distribution

Cloud computing has revolutionized the IT landscape, offering scalable and cost-efficient solutions for data storage and access. In recent years, multi-cloud environments have emerged as a strategic approach to leverage the strengths of various cloud service providers, mitigating vendor lock-in risks and optimizing performance. This paper focuses on the research domain of cloud computing, with a specific emphasis on data storage and access in multi-cloud environments. The importance of this research lies in its significant implications for data security, scalability, cost optimization, and resource management, due to the lack of versatility of the existing multi-cloud frameworks and approaches these concepts. The paper highlights key scientific goals, such as designing distributed storage techniques, optimizing data access latency, and developing security frameworks to safeguard data in multi-cloud settings according to the selected requirements of the subject are. Therefore, we propose an ontological model to formalize the domain’s concepts, relationships, and properties, while introducing an optimization function for selecting the best public cloud provider based on the proposed features. This comprehensive strategic approach aims to enhance data management practices automation, drive innovation in cloud technologies, and facilitate informed decision-making in multi-cloud environments.
