The article outlines the methodological aspects of organizing examinations of scientific projects during their competitive selection. The key features of organizing a collective examination, determining the competence of experts and the complexity of the examination, ensuring the integrity of experts and the publicity of the results of the examination, limiting random selection in the fight against expert bias are outlined. Model examples of the economics of expertise and calculation of the required number of experts are presented.
