Healthcare forms an important role in life. To enhance or expand the current patient care and services, health care organizations around the world are becoming more and more interested in obtaining and deploying telemedicine technology. Telemedicine is the use of technology to provide health services. There are very rare review papers about telemedicine that are put together to illustrate how telemedicine has been adopted. Therefore, this paper is important in the sense that it gives the review of how telemedicine has grown and how it has been adopted within or researched in the academic circle. This study reviewed 19 research articles that were published on the adoption of telemedicine till 2022. With the models used, researchers seem to agree that the factors such as Performance Expectancy, Self-Efficacy, Technology and Behavioral Intention influenced the adoption telemedicine. Healthcare provider’s opinion can also influence patient’s decision to use telemedicine for health services. Behavioral Intention to use new technology is significantly helping health workers perform better, together with appropriate education of any new systems.
