This chapter, as the concluding chapter of Part II, investigates two sets of collaborative design protocols derived from digital design experiments conducted across diverse spaces and technological platforms. Study I focusses on remote collaboration processes within a cloud-based BIM platform, as introduced in Chap. 6 . In contrast, Study II explores design collaboration across two distinct digital design environments and compares them to the traditional face-to-face analogue design environment, analysing aspects of digital design thinking as outlined in Chap. 7 , and distinguishing between two different collaborative team dynamics. To support these investigations, this chapter introduces two distinct coding schemes: one designed to analyse design communications in remote teamwork using the cognitive-social-technical (C-S-T) system model in Chap. 5 , and another rooted in a collaborative practice model. Collectively, these frameworks explore how digital design technologies facilitate or hinder collaboration, providing valuable insights into collaborative digital design thinking across various spaces and technological contexts.
