Industry 4.0 integrates emerging technologies into business processes, yet its adoption in Africa since 2011 remains unclear. To address this gap, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of Industry 4.0 research in Africa. Our findings reveal a growing trend in publications, with recent topics including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Digital Twin, Blockchain, Digitalization, Sustainability, and Industry 4.0 in the construction sector. South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Nigeria are key contributors to this research. Additionally, notable collaborations were observed among African countries, institutions and researchers. This study provides a comprehensive overview of Industry 4.0 research in Africa, offering insights to guide future studies.
