Design Recommendations for Nature-Based Cities
摘要
This Chapter presents design recommendations for Nature-based Cities, considering the primary challenges urban areas are currently facing, both in terms of environmental and ecological issues. Building on the approaches and research results presented throughout the book, it links design strategies at different scales with the impacts of climate change (CC) on cities and their inhabitants to address the increasing complexity of urban environments. Results from the case study applications provide the foundation for defining an overview of the most relevant design features for climate adaptation, highlighting the trade-offs and synergies between solutions for microclimate regulation and stormwater management. Finally, overall conclusions on the role of nature-based solutions in cities to enhance urban resilience are presented.
