Wildfires are an increasing global threat due to climate change and environmental factors. Communities in high-risk areas often lack the necessary knowledge and resources to assess and mitigate their vulnerability to wildfires. To address this issue, we developed the FIREPRIME app, a mobile application designed to evaluate home wildfire risk and provide personalized mitigation recommendations. The app integrates a structured questionnaire assessing house vulnerability factors with real-time hazard data from the Copernicus Fire Weather Index (FWI). The house vulnerability factor is computed using a fault tree model. The application was developed as part of the FIREPRIME European research project, incorporating feedback from three pilot sites in Spain, Sweden, and Austria. This paper presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of the FIREPRIME app, highlighting its usability and effectiveness in guiding homeowners toward improved wildfire resilience. A formative evaluation was conducted with project stakeholders, resulting in usability improvements and feature enhancements. Our findings indicate that the FIREPRIME app is a valuable tool for raising awareness and promoting proactive risk reduction in wildfire-prone regions.
