Sustainability is one of today’s popular issues. Another popular topic is additive manufacturing. In additive manufacturing, parts are produced layer by layer. Therefore, part production time takes a very long time. The long part production time increases both labour and energy (electricity) costs. In order to increase the sustainability of the additive manufacturing process, parameter optimization is mandatory. In this study, the additive manufacturing process is analysed in terms of part production time. In order to reduce the production time, statistical analysis was performed, and the current situation was revealed. As a result of the study, it was observed that increasing the layer thickness significantly improves part production time. The effect of printing speed was found to be very small due to the low speeds used in existing printers. With the development of technology, the effect of printing speed will become more prominent as printers that can produce parts faster are developed.
