Energy-Exergy Analysis of Under-Building Power Station in Thermal Power Plant-Based District

The residential heating demand in Soma is supplied by the coal-fired thermal power plant operating in the region. This study performs energy and exergy analyses of a heating system based on a thermal power plant used for heating a building. An under-building power station is introduced. The building’s heat losses have been calculated, and the necessary capacity of the under-building energy station to compensate for these losses has been determined. Additionally, the exergy losses of each component have been evaluated, and it was found that the highest exergy loss occurred in the heat exchanger. The building’s energy efficiency was calculated as 41.05%, and the exergy efficiency was calculated as 61.56%.
