Energy efficiency for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is an important strategy for both reducing costs and ensuring environmental sustainability. Effectively managing energy efficiency in SMEs is often challenging due to limited resources and lack of knowledge. Value-stream mapping (VSM) can be used as a powerful tool for managing energy efficiency policies effectively. This chapter explores the application of VSM as a tool to improve energy efficiency management in SMEs. Due to limited resources, SMEs often face significant challenges in managing energy efficiency. Although VSM is commonly used for process optimization in production, it is also recommended as an effective method for developing energy efficiency strategies. In the study, a framework was initially developed for the enterprise, followed by a case study that yielded effective results in energy management. The analysis identified the most effective variable as Heating Degree Day (HDD), and the enterprise’s efficiency target was found to be 14.08%. At the end of the study, recommendations for the sustainability and application of VSM analyses were developed.

摘要
