Conclusion
摘要
In this concluding chapter of The Palgrave Handbook of Consultancy in Health Psychology, the editors summarise learnings from 16 consultancy case studies, 11 chapters on topics in consultancy practice, and from responses by health psychology experts to editor questions. Those contributions illustrate the positive impact on health of engaging health psychologists as consultants, and the benefits to health psychologists themselves from engaging in consultancy. Describing their consultancy practice through the lens of the framework for consultancy in health psychology, chapter authors explain ‘how to’ marry scientific expertise with consultancy-specific skills. Health psychologists have transferable skills which can benefit from being adapted to the ‘business’ environment in which consultancy takes place and there is a need for further training delivered by health psychology consultancy experts. The authors include several Calls to Action and invite opportunities to start a new dialogue about consultancy in health psychology.
