Semiconductor Devices
摘要
We previously mentioned that electric power converters operate in switch mode. Now, we will explore the real-world implementation of power electronic switches—key components in SMPS (Switch-Mode Power Supplies)—and how to control them efficiently. Additionally, we will compare different types of electronic switches, with a focus on the isolation requirements of DC–DC converters and handling high current. By “power electronic switch,” we refer to transistors or semiconductors that operate in two distinct states: ON or OFF. This binary operation is their primary function, distinguishing them from semiconductors used for linear amplification. Currently, the market offers various types of power semiconductors, each significantly affecting performance and efficiency.
