The Jubilee of Hope of 2025 provided the authors of this volume with the opportunity to reflect on the use of new media by the Holy See by drawing on a variety of sources from the Vatican archives as well as little-known audiovisual sources. Focusing on both ordinary and extraordinary jubilees celebrated between 1900 and 2015, these Catholic mass events have been analyzed from the perspective of audiovisual mass media, with an emphasis on how the Holy See made the most of using the press, cinema, radio, and television.

摘要

The Jubilee of Hope of 2025 provided the authors of this volume with the opportunity to reflect on the use of new media by the Holy See by drawing on a variety of sources from the Vatican archives as well as little-known audiovisual sources. Focusing on both ordinary and extraordinary jubilees celebrated between 1900 and 2015, these Catholic mass events have been analyzed from the perspective of audiovisual mass media, with an emphasis on how the Holy See made the most of using the press, cinema, radio, and television.
