In this chapter, it will be attempted to capture the relationship between religious and worldview-based communities and human rights. With the concept of adaptation, it can be thought in the form of a dialogue: On the one hand, the contributions of religious and worldview-based communities to the human rights discourse will be examined. On the other hand, the effect of human rights on religious and worldview-based communities will be analyzed. Adaptation gives access to human rights from the perspective of one’s own religion and worldview by identifying key concepts, main principles, and core values of one’s own religion and worldview overlapping with human rights. Adaptation also embraces the proposals of substance for key concepts of human rights, e.g., human dignity, freedom.
