Media Influence Part II: Analysis of Mainstream News Coverage
摘要
Extending the media analysis of Christopher Rufo articles in the previous chapter, (N = 171) mainstream news articles covering education censorship are examined across politically divergent sources, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Tampa Bay Times, and USA Today. Three primary themes are discussed at length: (1) foundational influences (e.g., network actors), (2) confounding influences (e.g., COVID-19 pandemic), and (3) political bifurcation (i.e., Left vs. Right).
