Education Censorship: Timeline of Key Events

To further understand the movement of education censorship, a review of key events is delineated. Major events that predated and coincided with education censorship include the release of the 1619 Project, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement for racial justice, and the emergence of elite networks. A detailed look at elite networks comprises an examination of actors, organizations, lobbyists, and model legislation used cohesively to shape and build a movement undermine public education and developing education censorship.
