The educational ecosystem reveals a complex landscape of historical injustices, educational inequities, and a growing neoliberal influence. This environment is further impacted by school and community disinvestment, the prevalence of punitive disciplinary frameworks, high-stakes testing, and increasing corporate governance, all of which undergird the recent shifts of education censorship and the erosion of youth rights. These dynamics are backed by mechanisms of elite capture, narratives of culture wars, political division, and high conflict. The links between history, the role of the media, corporate expansion, and education censorship are outlined.
