This chapter examines Putin’s policy, which is based on the same sentiments as his American counterpart. The mass given to the leader is rewarded by the leader who devotes himself to it. Such a community of people is embodied in the Russian gathering that took place in Moscow on September 30, 2022 to honor the reintegration of the four former Ukrainian regions into Russia. Songs, speeches, and the constant shouting of “cheers” praising the strength of the unified mass and the leader create a crowd that appears to be much more indistinct and less socially diverse than the American mass.
