The aim of this study is to provide the role of artificial intelligence (AI)-related machine learning algorithms that can help in enhancing awareness and access to clinical decision support groups and awareness for cancer patients. A qualitative research design was adopted, and purposive sampling techniques were adopted to collect the sample. A total of 16 participants did a thematic analysis to analyze the data, and the sample size was finalized based on the data saturation. The participants worked in private hospitals for a minimum of 5 years in the oncology department as medical and allied health professionals in Bangalore. An in-depth interview guide and a sociodemographic profile were used to collect the data. Findings reveal key insights into general awareness, accessibility, effectiveness, trust, ethical concerns, and the future potential of AI in oncology practices. The average age of the participants was 25–52 years, and 60% of the professionals are female. Thirty-one percent of the participants work as nurses in the oncology department, and 18.8% of the professionals work as medical oncologists. Half of the professionals have more than 10 years of working experience in the oncology department. The present study explored healthcare professionals’ perspectives on the role of AI in cancer awareness, detection, and treatment. The professional healthcare sector in Bangalore, India, can present additional challenges and potential and should be attractive to researchers and developers of artificial intelligence solutions.
