Automation applications in education facilitate the learning process across various sectors where they can be applied, playing a crucial role in the training of professionals in the field. This research analyzes the significance of automation in education over time and the impact of using didactic automation solutions in engineering education. The study aims to identify gaps in automation teaching solutions for education, whether commercially available or developed within educational institutions, to identify shortcomings and propose improvements. To this end, a systematic review of various commercial educational solutions (manufacturers’ catalogs) and institutional educational systems was carried out using scientific articles (SCOPUS, etc.) and institutional sources. The analysis highlights the growing importance of automation across different sectors and emphasizes that automation education is essential for equipping new professionals with the scientific and technical knowledge required to meet the needs of society and industry. The comparison of the systems studied indicates that commercial solutions are more comprehensive and feature higher levels of innovation but come at a significantly higher cost, but they are not always completely aligned with the needs of the sector. On the other hand, educational solutions are more affordable but exhibit lower levels of innovation, partly because the most recent developments in this domain are not up to date. This paper proposes guidelines to fill these gaps.

摘要
