The study and implementation of autonomous systems are rapidly advancing across multiple industries. The increasing need to protect strategically significant locations, both domestically and globally, underscores the importance of this research. As security threats become more sophisticated, it is crucial to adapt surveillance methodologies to ensure adequate protection. This paper focuses on developing a security framework utilizing autonomous robotic systems, including mobile ground robots and aerial drones, to safeguard high-priority areas. These systems operate within designated zones, offering improved protection while minimizing operational expenses. However, designing such an architecture presents challenges, particularly the requirement for uninterrupted monitoring, concerns about autonomy, navigation, and the efficiency of command and control mechanisms. To address these issues, this study explores key surveillance solutions integrating unmanned ground and aerial vehicles (UGVs and UAVs). The paper highlights their effectiveness in securing sensitive locations and their potential for further technological advancements.
