This chapter gives an outline of the SÄNGER Hypersonics Technology Development and Verification (HYTEDAV) Concept, which was devised toward the end of the German Hypersonics Technology Programme. The reader may ask why look at the results of that study, which was performed nearly 30 years ago. The answer is, that the findings of the work in the four main areas of the technology programme are still of importance today.
