Artificial intelligence (briefly AI) is an area of computer science that aims to create intelligent machines that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as decision-making, visual perception, speech recognition, and natural language generation. We present the basics of AI and discuss how AI can help bridge the gap between the current state of knowledge and the graduate skills, for example, in STEM education. We also present a case study on the use of AI in innovative physics education.
