The chapter aims to present the Polish model of juvenile justice. Its legal basis is the Act on Support and Resocialization of Minors of 2022 (Juvenile Act, 2022), which replaced the 1982 Act on Proceedings in Juvenile Matters, which had been in force for over 40 years (Juvenile Act 1982). The Polish approach to preventing juvenile crime, compared to other international juvenile justice systems, is based on the guardianship model (welfare model). The chapter contains the legal basis for the inclusion of minors in preventive and social rehabilitation measures as a result of exhibiting behaviour indicating demoralization and committing a criminal act. In addition, the risk factors for juvenile delinquency, the statistical picture of juvenile delinquency in Poland compared to other European countries, and the principles of juvenile justice and legal responses to juvenile delinquency based on interinstitutional cooperation are described.

摘要
