This chapter foregrounds queer reproduction and family-making through the trope of male pregnancy. Heggestad argues that while the idea of men giving birth to offspring of their own exists in even our earliest creation myths, this trope has taken on inherently queer and alien connotations in many contemporary works of science fiction. The chapter focuses on three television series: Star Trek: Enterprise, Futurama, and Doctor Who. Here, the speculative queer theory of scholars like Wendy Gay Pearson and Alexis Lothian is brought alongside the zany aesthetic described by Sianne Ngai to query the alien pregnancies that so readily stand in as early and mainstream narratives of queer parenting, allowing not only a means of navigating new and inclusive future trajectories but a glance back towards queer pasts as well.
