Nutrient Resource Management in Fisheries and Aquaculture
摘要
As the aquaculture operation expands and increasingly contributes to global food supply, it is essential to guarantee its growth remains socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable, in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Although the technological development of these alternatives differs across and within the new component categories, it is essential to evaluate them within the whole feed ingredient array. Historical, current, and future perspectives are used to show significant operational changes that have progressively been adopted and new methods that are emerging as part of the march towards sustainable intensive aquaculture production systems. Aquaculture persistently decreases its carbon footprint by lowering greenhouse gas emissions, enhanced feed management techniques, understanding of nutrient needs and innovative farming methodologies. In this chapter, different aspects of nutrition and feed management in the aquaculture sector have been covered. A framework for the aquaculture sector aimed for effectively managing to satisfy the production to ensure food safety was discussed.
