Understanding Multiplicity of Length-Scales in Turbulent Flows
摘要
In this chapter, we focus on a simple turbulent flow field called decaying turbulenceDdecaying turbulence. It is a special case of a statistically homogeneous flowSstatistically homogeneous flow field, and it has zero mean velocity at all locations and at all times. Since the mean velocity vector is identical at all locations, the entire mean velocity gradient tensor, too, is zero at all locations.
